The 23rd Season of ESEA, also known as the Mountian Dew League, has come to a close. With that, the teams to compete at the MDL Global Challenge LAN in Burbank, California as well as the teams that will be fighting for promotion to ESL Pro League Season 5, are now know.
The six regional ESEA Leagues have come to a close, finalising the team list for the MDL Global Challenge LAN that will take place at the ESL studios in Burbank, California from January 5-8.
For the North American and European division, two LAN spots were reserved, while only one representative from Brazil, Australia, Asia and South Africa are to compete at the LAN finals.
TSM and Rush were the two teams to make it through the playoffs unscathed, clinching the two North American LAN spots, while Kinguin and LDLC did the same in Europe.
After a solid DreamHack Winter, MICHU's Kinguin will attend MDL Global Challenge
g3x and carboN finished their regular seasons with 16-0 map records, but were unable to make it through the playoffs of their regions, with BigGods and Bravado taking the two spots in the end.
Last on the list are Athletico and VG.CyberZen, who lost a few matches in the regular season but cruised past their opposition in the playoffs without dropping a single map.

The process of promoting teams to ESL Pro League will be done via a combination of online and offline play.
Firstly, the worst ranked team from each division, FlipSid3 and ex-eUnited, will be replaced by the best ranked premier team from their division.
The best ranked team will be decided by Kinguin-LDLC and TSM-Rush matches that will be played in a LAN environment at Burbank, California at the time of the LAN finals—but will not be a part of the MDL Global Challenge LAN competition.
Rogue defeated GODSENT and claimed the last spot in the EU promotion playoffs
The last two spots for ESL Pro League Season 5 will be decided with online matches between the teams that finished 12th and 13th in ESL Pro League and the teams that ended 2nd and 3rd in ESEA Premier.
That will leave us with the following games to be played, with the winner of each earning a spot in ESL Pro League Season 5:
